Stuff you will need for proper care of your tattoo:
- Bepanthen (the one you need from this brand is called „kenőcs”, make sure you get this at the pharmacy)
- Kitchen towel/roll (make sure you get a good quality from it)
- Simple foil you use for everyday stuff, available in most stores in Budapest
- Band aid (to attach the foil to the skin without moving)
In the first 2 days:
- After your tattoo is finished, in 2-4 hours take the foil off (the sooner the better)
- Make sure to wash your hands properly before touching the fresh tattoo. You can also use an antibacterial soap (Isana/Dettol); afterwards wash your tattoo with water
- Use a new kitchen towel to dry the skin, let it breathe a little
- Put Bepanthen on the tattoo and keep in mind to use just a little, not too much from the cream
- Put the foil on the tattoo and use band aid if needed
Please repeat everything written above for 2 more days, each day at least 3-4 times! In the morning, the first thing to do is changing the foil and that is the last to do before going to bed. Proper aftercare of the tattoo is highly important in the healing process!
After the 3rd day:
After waking up, take the foil off, wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap, put a little Bepanthen on it. You won’t need to use the foil any longer. After 10-15 minutes you will feel that the skin is sort of dry. From that point on, always put cream on it as soon as you feel itchy. When you take a shower, use antibacterial soap or if you don’t have it, use water. Do not use simple soap. Usually on the 4th or 5th day the tattoo starts to peel, which is good but make sure you don’t scratch it! Throughout the peeling period use only Bepanthen, nothing else!
After peeling:
When the peeling stops, put simple body lotion on the tattoo for 1-2 months. This helps the skin to regenerate.
THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE HEALING PROCESS IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO GO TO THE SAUNA, SUN, SCRATCHING, GOING TO THE GYM OR SWIMMING IN THE POOL AND NATURAL WATERS ARE BIG NO-NO’S! IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A PERFECTLY HEALED TATTOO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, MAKE SURE YOU DO EVERYTHING THE WAY IT IS ADVISED TO YOU HERE!
